A Church where Everybody is Somebody and Christ is Lord of All.

A Prayer for You

We said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard.
We felt the answer in our hearts. He spoke no word.
We didn't ask for wealth or fame--we know you wouldn’t mind.
We asked Him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind.
We asked that He be near you at the start of each day,
to grant you health, blessings and friends to share your ways.
We asked for happiness for you in all things great and small,
but it was for His loving care we prayed for most of all.

In sincere appreciation, Pastor Moses & Mrs. Eledia Harvill.

Celebrating God’s Vessels for this Hour and this Season

We certainly give God all the praise and glory for sending His chosen vessels, the Rev. Moses L. Harvill and Sister Eledia Harvill to the Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church family.

The Rev. Moses L. Harvill and the former Eledia Soni Camp arrived at Cross Street May 30, 1993 to pastor their first church.  As we look at their 16 years of leadership one can only stand in awe as to the many great moves of God we have witnessed through their ministry.  In the book of Chronicles, the tribe of Issachar understood the signs of the time and gave godly counsels for what should be done.  Rev. and Mrs. Harvill’s ministry has been one of discerning the times and giving godly wisdom as to what must be done.

Under their leadership, the church paid off the parsonage and church mortgages.  Two vans were purchased, and a state-of-the-art sound system and technology was installed.  These are only a few of the blessings we have experienced.  This leadership positioned Cross Street for the 21st century.  The church membership exceeds 450 and there are over 40 active ministries.  Financially, we have made tremendous progress.  One needs only attend the Quarterly Conferences, District Conference and Annual Conference to get a full picture of the true state of the church under this present leadership.

Spiritually, the power of God is in the House!  We have grown in spirit and in truth.  The Word is presently in such a powerful, awesome way that all who hear cannot help but respond.  Our young people have embraced the Gospel and have brought others to the church.  Their spiritual growth is a wonder to behold.

The arrival of Rev. and Sister Harvill has brought about a new level of ministry, which has constantly moved the church forward.  Their ministry reaches beyond the walls of Cross Street.  Sister Harvill serves as New England Conference, Conference President of the Minister’s Wives and Spouses Ministry and with the Missionary Society as Chairman of the Life Members Committee.  She also served as the Co-Chair for Unity Sunday Day Ministry.  Pastor Harvill is involved in several community Boards: H.O.P.E., Inc., Jones Fund, and the Ministerial Alliance.

Rev. and Mrs. Harvill’s labors of love are immeasurable.  The time, energy and sacrifices they make daily on behalf of the church family and community will never be fully recorded here on earth.  Their life is their testimony.  They follow Christ and we are pleased to follow them.To Pastor Harvill and the First Lady Eledia, we, the Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church family, extend our love and God’s blessings toward you.  We declare that you are God’s chosen vessels for this hour and this season.
