New Year's Blessing, Retooling for Church Growth: Renewing, Reconnecting, and Reopening.

There's a scripture that I quote often, and I would like to share with you that no doubt you have read or sung at one point in your walk with the Lord. Psalm 118:24 says, "This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it."

It is no doubt that the vast majority of us are happy to turn the corner to 2021. We know that turning the corner will not turn it all around at once everything wrong in our country.

We will still face circumstances in the upcoming year that will test our resolve and determination to serve Christ. Even as Christians, we will face more difficulty, and yes, even persecution, as we live out our Biblical convictions fighting the coronavirus and the many injustices.

The scripture I just shared helps us look over the horizon of this new year with the clear perspective that we live this life, making the most of every day. Lord, give us our daily bread as we serve You and the Church. It has been by this Pandemic that we have experienced more daily joy in helping others.

When it comes to our future, remember that God already has been there! There is absolutely nothing that will come up in the days, weeks, and months ahead, that will be a surprise to Him!

I encourage you to look at this upcoming year with anticipation for the beautiful things God wants to do through you! Some people will be looking for hope, and we have that hope, and His Name is Jesus! Be ready to share the Good News of the Gospel!

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

The message is that Christ calls us to make the most of today and not fret about tomorrow. While we can certainly make plans, we should always keep in mind those plans should always be ready to be molded to the will of the Lord.

We have demonstrated during the Pandemic that God will supply our daily needs. Let's join together in Retooling for Church Growth 2021: Renewing, Reconnecting, and Reopening.

Faithfully Yours,

Pastor Moses L. Harvill

Note: I want to take a moment on behalf of the Pastor, First Lady, and Leadership at The Historic Cross Street AME Zion Church to wish you and yours a Blessed and Bounteous New Year. Much love to all. We miss gathering together. The Best is Yet to come!
