Rise Up: THE STONE HAS BEEN ROLLED AWAY
John 20:1-18 NIV:
The Empty Tomb
1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
In John 20 opens with Mary Magdalene arriving early, while it is still dark, and seeing the stone removed from the entrance of the tomb where Jesus was laid to rest.
Mary Madeline or Peter and the disciple never believe that a stone to heavy could be moved away!!!!
With God Noting is too heavy or impossible!!!
The Rolled-Away Stone is reminds that Only God can move heavy boulders out of our way!!!
As human beings, We struggle with suffering.
We do not do well with betrayal.
We do not do well with grief, abandonment and Rejection.
We are living in a stressful and chaotic world.
It is so important we in Faith with confidence in God!!!
Rise Up, The Stone rolled away reminds us that we can Rose Up…and Proclaim the Greatness and the Goodness of God!!!
It Is TIME to Rise!!’
Let’s Worship…, Let’s Serve…Let’s Give…Let’s Move….in the Power of the Resurrection!!!
Rise Up…The Stone Has Been Rolled Away!!!!
Love That Looks Like Jesus
Scripture — 1 John 4:11 (NIV): “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
[💜] A Word to Mediate on Everyday!!!
The first thing God hands you everyday is love—not tasks, not pressure, not expectations. Just love.
John reminds us that our call to love one another doesn’t begin with our effort. It begins with God’s example. We love because we have been loved. We forgive because we have been forgiven. We show grace because grace has been shown to us.
• Patient love — slowing down enough to see people, not just pass them
• Courageous love — choosing unity when division feels easier
• Restorative love — healing what has been strained or broken
• Everyday love — kindness in tone, generosity in spirit, compassion in action
Love becomes the quiet sermon your life preaches before you ever speak a word.
Reflection
Where is God nudging you to love more intentionally today?
Who might need a gentle word, a listening ear, or a small act of kindness?
Let your love everyday be evidence that you belong to Christ.
[🙏🏽] Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving us first.
Let Your love shape our thoughts, soften our words, and guide our actions.
Help us love others with the same grace You continually show us.
Amen.
